What is Pilates?

A mind-body exercise that provides daily conditioning, promotes whole-body health and develops mental awareness to optimize your personal performance.

Origin,1960s: named after German physical fitness specialist
Joseph Pilates (1880-1967), who devised the system.

Why Pilates:

Pilates conditions the whole bodyNo muscle group is over trained or undertrained. Your entire body is evenly balanced and conditioned, helping you to enjoy daily activities and sports with greater ease, better performance and less chance of injury. That’s why so many professional sports teams and elite athletes now use Pilates as a critical part of their training regime. Pilates can really make a difference in your health without taking a toll on your body.
Pilates is also an extremely flexible exercise system. Modifications to the exercises allow for a range of difficulty ranging from beginning to advanced. Get the workout that best suits you now, and increase the intensity as your body conditioning improves.


Pilates Mat Class

Our mat classes are small in numbers, so you can get lots of corrections (and praise!!) from the instructor. Everyone does the same exercises, but if the participants are at different levels, that can be accommodated by modifications (progressions and regressions).
In this class you will get a full body workout, with focus on core control, breath and alignment. We will train small and large muscle groups through flow and precision. Benedikte will make sure that each participant is working within their limits and potential.

Private sessions

This is recommended if you have injuries that needs special attention during exercise, so you can improve your health by training in a safe way.  A private session is also excellent if you have specific goals and/or specific areas of your body you would like to trainThe instructor will costum make programs just for you and will be the outside eye you need for safe but efficient exercise. You have the instructor’s full attention and focus.

Duo sessions

You have a friend or a partner you find it motivating to train with. You will get individualised exercises based on your needs. It’s recommended to do a couple of private sessions first, to start you off.

Pilates Studio Class

Our studio consists of brand new BASI Pilates equipment, including the Reformer, Spine Corrector and Wunda Chair.
We’ll also use the TRX in the session, for an exiting take on the Pilates repertoire. In this class participants are doing different exercises on different equipment. The class is small for lots of good guidence sake.
